Easter Basket Goodies

Can you believe that tomorrow is the first day of Spring?! Let's hope that mother nature gets the memo!
I have been looking forward to Easter for a while now, Harper has been having so much fun this year already exploring the back yard, it will be so much fun for her to hunt her Easter eggs out there! My parents get in town the night before, so we are planning a big brunch after church & a whole day of fun. I know the days are going to fly by as we await baby girl's arrival, so for the first time ever (or at least during this pregnancy), I got a major head start on something, filling up the girls' Easter baskets!

I always love putting a book in her basket, this year I chose I Had a Favorite Dress, which is so fitting because she has been playing dress up every day with her tutus & I know she will especially love the illustrations. All Natural Beeswax Crayons were a must, because one can never have too many art supplies & some alphabet stickers. Then I added some classic Jelly Shoes (windows up!), an oversized sparkly bow & a festive lamb sippy. In her Easter eggs, there is a clip-on bunny tail (also from the Target dollar spot that I know she is going to love since she has lately been asking us why animals have tails but she doesn't...?) & some new Spring hair bows.

If all goes as planned, baby girl won't be here until a few days after Easter, but just in case she makes an early appearance, I had to make her a little basket too! ;) The little kraft paper caddy is from the dollar spot as well since we won't get her a basket until next year, but I just put together a few things I already had for her to make a cute basket. A new pair of teeny-tiny pajamas, a bow & the cutest deer rubber teether ever, along with a bunny swaddle blanket & some new bibs in her Easter eggs.

These little kraft paper boxes are so perfect for mini Easter baskets for other friends & family as well. Especially dressed up a bit with some craft paint or wrapping paper, plus the little jute handles could be replaced with ribbon. I see myself doing a few craft projects with these very soon!

What are you putting in your babes Easter baskets this year?! Hoping mine is full of donuts.

UPDATED: The clear/vintage style eggs are from Target :)

  1. For Zoey's easter basket so far, I have a Cabbage Patch mini baby doll that's dressed up in bunny PJs (That I got for $5 a few months ago!), some bath tub finger paint that's actually soap (Target dollar spot!), and some new hairbow clippies. I also plan to put a book in there, though I haven't found the right one yet...

  2. Isn't playing the Easter bunny the best? It's my daughter's first Easter as well, and planning for her basket is so much fun :) Love the book! Great ideas as usual :)

  3. These are too cute! I love the little jelly shoes, I remember having those when I was a kid! My sister & I are in college & my Mom still does baskets for us, which I love! A few years back when my (younger) sister was still in high school I set up a crazy intense Easter egg hunt for her & our dog that was insane, we still laugh about it every year!

  5. Too cute Jessica!! I as well, scored a lot of great stuff from the dollar section since Jack isn't a fan of sweets (he's my child?!!? Ha!) Stickers, balls, plastic animals, army men, cars etc for the eggs and a cute stuffed bunny and books too. Love those PB baskets so they can hold a lot!!

  8. I am so impressed you already have your baskets together! I always put a book in as well, and art supplies. My other staples are flip flops, sunglasses and Gymboree bubbles (no other compare). Can't wait to see what you do with the kraft paper baskets, I've been eyeing them every time we go to target.

  10. Cute ideas! My daughter will be almost 8 months around Easter. I got her a pair of duck slippers, a pink colored bottle (since we can never have enough), 2 small stuffed animals and some bows. There are some chocolate eggs and chocolate covered oreos in there too for us adults! :)

  17. Long time reader, first time poster :) This is my first Easter as a Mom. My daughter will be 10 months during the holiday. I got her a bunny basket, a mermaid beach towel, duffel bag all from Pottery Barn Kids and egg shakers (she loves playing with them at storytime) :)

  18. How cute are those!!??!? Loving that you did a little basket for Little Miss #2 -- what a sweet idea :) LOVING those jelly shoes (windows up -- haha -- that story cracked me up!). I might have to pick up a pair for my almost-two-year old this spring too. This is terrible, but we have extra gifts from Christmas that Santa bought but never gave (we realized half way through family gift openings too many toys for a toddler on Christmas is a disaster!). Parents of the year right here :) I would love a basket full of donuts too now that you mention it. <3

  23. These are too cute! I love the idea of filling the eggs with little accessories instead of tons of candy. Still keeps it exciting without the early morning sugar high, haha.

  24. I am so excited to create an easter basket for my little. Not until next year so I am hoping to buy a cute basket after they all go on sale. :)

  25. Pj's. In Australia it starts to get cold around that time. I remember always getting a new pair of winter pj's from mum. I have decided to carry on this tradition with my daughter. This year she is getting: pjs, a rabbit book, new ugg boots, some cute clips and I am still on the hunt for a cute sippy cup. But I have so much stuff stashed away for her second birthday on the 23rd April I will probably throw a few more things in there.

    ReplyDelete
  26. how funny.. those jelly shoes & sippy cup are both set to make an appearance in Averys basket this year as well ;) then ill probably add in a couple things that she will have fun with like bubbles or chalk- and maybe some cute toddler accessories. I love love that sparkly bow!

  29. LOVE the baskets this year! It's my boy's first Easter. I'm beyond ecstatic. I might have gone a little overboard... 5 books (we've got to build up his library!), a textured play ball, a little bunny stuffed animal, and some new sporks! Mama cheated and let him help pick the ball out at the store. It's hard not caving and giving it to him early. The way his little face lit up! I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  30. So cute! I always drop the ball and do everything last minute...so this was a good remind to get on it this year! Can't wait to see the nursery and Harper's room reveals!!

  31. Easter is my favorite after Christmas and I'm so excited to share it with my little one. (For the record, we LOVE Leila Deer. My girl kept stealing her friend's Sophie, so we got her Leila and it was a hit as well.) I'm thinking a bonnet and little rain boots and a touch and feel book.

    ReplyDelete
  32. So cute! I love that you thought of so many non-candy items!
How fun that you can start saying, "the girls" :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Too funny.. I got that book for Carsyn too. She is also getting a swimsuit, pool float, Daisy Duck stuffed animal and Bubbles!!!! :)

    P.S. I want donuts too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I always include books, too. I've picked up two so far but have nothing else. And my baby #2 will be here by Easter so I have to have two baskets - one gender neutral! - ready to go. Eeeks!

I love the jellies. My daughter had a gold pair last year, I think we're going to go for a repeat this summer!

  35. Love seeing what you're putting in the girls basket! If you have any fun ideas for boys, let me know!! ;)
