Our Day in Pictures.

Happy Saturday, lovelies! Thank you all so much for the incredible feedback on my exclusively pumping post. So much encouragement there for mamas in every situation, if you are currently struggling with your breastfeeding experience, I encourage you to read all of the comments & you will instantly be reminded of what a badass you are just for trying.

A lot of the feedback in the Q&A posts (here & here) was about our daily routine & what our  schedule looks like. I thought it would be fun to post once a week an hourly play-by-play of a typical weekday! I will incorporate meals, workouts & lots of other boring stuff :)

 6:00 am | This.

7:00 am | Iced coffee, email Pinterest & a blanket on the couch while the house is still quiet.

8:00 am | Breakfast with this pretty little lady. (Pajamas)

9:00 am | Multi-tasking takes on a whole new meaning. Working & watching the doodle bug run wild out of the corner of my eye.

10:00 am | Like a boss.

11:00 am | No nap ninja strikes again thanks to the mailman ringing the doorbell like a lunatic & then slamming a package into my front door.

12:00 pm | Lunch (True Life: We are addicted to sourdough bread).

1:00 pm | Home from a quick Publix run. (Sweaterdress, Leggings, Headband)

2:00 pm | Story Time. Harper LOVES looking at the pictures in Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

3:00 pm | Going down for nap numero dos.

4:00 pm | Client calls, excel sheets & snacks.

5:00 pm | Fresh air & a little diva pucker. (Sweaterdress, Sunglasses, Wagon)

6:00 pm | Wine & Noggin (they go hand in hand!)

7:00 pm | Bathtime. Brandon usually does her bath/bottle routine, while I cook dinner. On the menu: Potato Crusted Tilapia & Broccoli. I never knew fish could be this delicious.

By 8:00 pm we are spent! Working & having Harper home with me all day make things a little crazy. Although I feel so blessed to have her sweet little face to look at all day.
Life doesn't get much better than that! ;)

  2. Where did you get your planner? I'm looking for a spiral planner to use for after I graduate college this May. Sometimes putting things into my iPhone calendar can be a PAIN and it's much easier to write things down.

  3. are all of these from your new camera?! the pictures look great! funny our day looks pretty similiar! the only way I can work out is if I do it first thing in the morning before anything else.. and how amazing is the quiet in the morning after your workout? I think it may be the most calming time of day!

  6. Our schedules are very similar, minus waking up to work out. I wish I could get my lazy butt out of bed before 7:30 to work out... but it's just not gonna happen ;)

  10. Great post! Do you ever have trouble with client calls and her waking early from a nap? I've been wondering how to keep calls/appointments on-track like that with a baby :)

  12. Ooooooo LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Keep this up :) and btw, your post on your breastfeeding situation was awesome! It was nice to see that all these months later you're able to talk about it with a tiny bit of humor in the mix. It seems like you've made peace with your situation and it has encouraged me to make peace with mine. I love that even though you don't personally know all of your followers, you are so encouraging to us and supportive. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us! You're such a great role model for other mamas! :)

  15. How do you have Noggin?! This was my oldest daughter's favorite station. Our cable provider stopped carrying it and I would love to find it for my little Harper! I have to find Moose a Moose and Zee on Youtube!

  16. I'm slightly obessed with you as crazy as that sounds lol I stumbled upon a Pinterest post of your chalkboard preggo stages and then found this blog when I was pregnant. You've seriously gotten me through some crazy and difficult times. I found and brought some great products because of your blog and seriously thank you almost every day...my daughter, Charlie, is 9 months now and I still check your favorites of every month. Thank you for all of your sharing you truly are an inspiration to me as a first time mother and I know to everyone that reads your blog!

  22. love this! I've been thinking about doing a post about daily routine (if you can even call it that) for a while. such an awesome idea to look back on when they're older.

  25. Sounds like you have busy days! I don't know how you get up at 6:00am. That's a bit too early for me. I love the idea of using mason jars for drinking glasses. Very homey and southern to me, and I try to incorporate any type of southern feel in my life that I can - sweet tea, bbq foods, etc. There was recently a weekly photo challenge in regards to something similar, take a picture every hour for a day and show what it looks like. It was quite fun but actually really hard to remember to take a picture every single hour. Good on you for sticking with it!

  26. I love those plates, they're beautiful!

I've contemplated doing kettlebell workouts before, but I think i should stick to my current fitness plan before I go and buy anymore equipment haha

Loving the more frequent posts too, you're a legend!

  27. Thanks for letting us in on a day in your life. I'm struggling to find the balance and figure out how to make working from home work for us. My little one is 2 1/2 months and is a no nap ninja most afternoons too! How did you do it when she was younger? What did your routine look like then? Any tips on managing working from home in the early months and getting a routine down would be SO greatly appreciated! Love your blog!

  28. Harper is a doll. I know what you mean about the no nap ninja! I rely on nap time to get stuff done! I wonder if she might be ready to transition to just one nap after lunch? Beneficial for both mama & toddler. :)

  36. Any naptime tips or advice? My 10 month old sleeps great at night, but naps are a struggle. I cannot get her to sleep in her crib for a nap. I've let her cry for over an hour on numerous occasions and she just refuses to go to sleep. So, I strap her into this rocker chair we have just to get her to nap. She's going to outgrow it soon! Wondering if you went through anything similar with Harper?

  40. Oh this is great!! I love this!!! Thank you! I feel like the day flies by when I am off with Jack. Wish I was everyday, but I don't think I'd get any work done from home! LOL

  41. I work from home with a two year old and a 6 month old and I HATE it when their naps get interrupted (i.e. marching band practice since we live next door to a school). I'm thankful that I get to spend the days with my boys and work and the same time, but it gets soooo hectic. Could you maybe share some tips on being a work from home mommy?

I´m from Germany and I am a huge fan of your Blog!
I started doing the 30 Day Shred DVD 10 days ago and now I have a big question on my mind:
What shoes do you wear for your workouts?
    Can you recommend any?

  55. GREAT POST. I'm always curious how other moms organize their day! Seems like a lot of fun in the Garvin household! I envy your stamina. I try to be productive everyday. And when I feel like slumping down on the couch I think...WWJD (What Would Jessica Do). Hehehe :) thanks for being inspirational.

  58. I must check your blog at least 3 times a day to see if you've updated it! You are just so inspiring, Jessica! I have a 3 month old, and was wondering if you could tell me a good schedule, maybe the one Harper was on, at that age... or if you even had one?

  59. Love this post, thanks for the link to the recipe! I made the tilapia tonight for my niece and nephew and they LOVED IT - rarely do the gobble up their whole dinner but tonight was an exception! I added a bit of parmesan cheese to the potato flakes and it gave it a great flavour.

  63. I've seen signs (that could easily be homemade) that say "BABY SLEEPING - do not ring bell" that you can leave on your front door so lunatic mailmen don't wake the beast. Just a thought! :D

    ReplyDelete
  64. PS - I'm pretty sure you could add "Asshat" after "Do not ring bell" just to get the point across ;)
