One Week Until Christmas!

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I have only been thinking about Harper's First Christmas outfit since the day I found out that I was pregnant. And now here we are, a week away, and I have no idea what she is going to wear. Part of me wants her to wear a fancy dress... but part of me wants her to be comfy and festive and covered in bows! It probably goes without saying, but whatever I put her in will end up covered in drool & food anyway.

Here is my collection of favorite Christmas Day Outfits... for your little lady or gent!

Cream Sweater Dress | Red Ruffle Tights | Plaid Headband
Red Ballet Flats | Grey Sweaterdress
Trapper Hat & Mitten Set | Cable Knit One-Piece
Reindeer Sweater Set | Lace Up Moccasin | Santa Overall

I am in LOVE with those big bow ballet flats. Our baby gap had them in black at one time but I couldn't get Harper's size. If anyone comes across an abundance of them in a 12 month size in your local store... send me an email! :) We may need to work something out!

For the next few days, we will be buried deep in wrapping paper & Christmas baked goods! If you follow me on Instagram (@jlgarvin) you may have seen this picture and my comment about how much I suck at wrapping gifts. I have visions in my mind about how I'd like the gifts to look, but I always end up with crooked wrapping, too much tape & a half assed bow that I tied too tight or too loose. I actually DO love wrapping gifts though... my favorite materials include kraft paper, bakers twine & washi tape! :) You can also create faux chalkboard gift tags with regular black card stock.

Aside from my failed gift wrapping attempts, I still have yet to get a perfect picture of Harpie Doodle in front of the Christmas tree.

So hold on to your antlers, people! The Christmas countdown is ON! :)

OMG I am dying over the reindeer sweater set! I'm definitely going to have to pick that up for my little guy to wear next year for the holidays :) So cute! I'll check out Baby Gap for you on the flats...maybe we've got a few in AZ.

I love the way you wrapped your gifts!! They look good in the picture!

I have yet to get a good picture of my bug in front of the tree either...she's too busy trying to yank the ornaments off. Babies! ;)

These could be a close second to those adorable flats you're not able to find. The glitter I think goes great for the holiday season !

I saw those adorable flats at Baby Gap today & almost bought them! They only had one 0-3 pair (that still fit my 8 month old...), but the strap was broken. =(

I'm all about decorating the baby for the holidays too! I can't decide if my girl will wear her red corduroy Baby Gap dress, or this (more comfy) one:
http://www.toffeeappletummies.com.au/products/Bebe-Baby-Girl-Stripe-Dress-Red-White-Stripe.html (Which I got on MyHabit, not here).

Love Harper's outfit in the last pic. Where's that from?

Who says she has to wear only 1 Christmas outfit?! Do a midday wardrobe change (or whenever she smears food or barfs all over her first outfit like my little lady does!) Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass. Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah!

I think the gift wrapping looks great! I love how personalized you have made them, I will have to try that next year! I've had a blast keeping up with your blog (we just got married in September, but I know when we're having our first little one I will be referring to your site a lot! :)

    1. I am dying over the Santa overalls. If I had a little one, I would make them wear those all year long.

    2. How do you think you suck at wrapping gifts?! I think your wrapping is adorable..and I love the idea of using a monogram or faux chalkboard as gift tags!

    3. Harper is way too cute.

I love all of the baby girl stuff out for the holidays, but I seriously struggled (and I'm still struggling) to put together outfits for 3 days of Christmas for my son. I wanted a red long sleeve onesie to put under one of his flannel shirts and I cannot find one without a lacey bow at the neck for the life of me! Stores are not making it easy to think outside of the outfit box for baby boys this year. Boooooooo
