House Tour: Holiday Edition

Sunday, December 9, 2012

The 25 Days of Christmas 22 Days of Christmas continues with our house tour! We are far from the Griswolds, but we certainly like to bring a little holiday spirit into each and every room.

In the entryway lives our Home Alone inspired shabby-crooked Christmas tree from the tree farm. I seriously love this little guy. The number one quality that I look for in a tree is always the shortest, fattest one with the most disproportionately, tall top branch!

Please disregard the ugly, invisible tree skirt.

Every year, I debate back and forth about whether to have a colorful tree or keep it simple with white lights and classic, woodsy ornaments. So this year, we did both!

Paper Garlands, Branch Tree Topper & Ornaments

We opted for a cheap & easy pine garland for the top of the mantle... made purely from our tree trimmings! :)

Red Stockings, White Stocking, Garland, G Ornament, Basket

We even decked out our bedroom. Our room is far from complete, I still have no idea what to put above it (a canvas maybe?) and we definitely need new nightstands & window treatments.

Brandon told me the other night that our bed looks like a sleigh... hell yes.

And last but not least, one of my favorite rooms in the house, the playroom! We spend a lot of our time in here & hope to continue making it a super fun, whimsical place for Harper to play.

Teepee, Polka Dot Blanket, Basket, Chevron Pillows

My favorite part? Harper's new teepee! I have been on the hunt for one forever & finally discovered Moozle Home, the most perfect teepee ever! We added a blanket inside, some fairy lights & another one of our favorite felt garlands.... seriously I want to live in here. It reminds me so much of the movie, The Holiday! :)
 Market Stalls Blanket

The chalkboard wall had to get a little bit festive too!

And of course, your daily dose of munchkin.

Tea Collection Romper

Happy Sunday to you all!

Love the pictures of Harper. Your Christmas stuff looks great, when we hit over the age of thirteen the Christmas things aren't like the use to be even though we have the nieces and now nephew that have a Christmas here( the younger niece *She is five* that it was called Meah Christmas). The bed does look like a sleigh.

I have been having the same problem with our bedroom! There is blank space above our bed and I cannot decide what to put there. I feel like a big piece of art would look best - but then it could set the tone for the rest of the room and I'm not sure if I'm okay with that. Decisions, decisions!

omg! love the teepee and I've been looking everywhere for one for my little man and almost was going to make one, so thanks for the Etsy info. We couldn't figure out forever what to put over our bed but ended up hanging a beautiful handwoven rug from Afghanistan when we visited and we love it. Make our room feel really cozy.

Lovely! Maybe over the bed, you could do three large canvas prints (or three large frames that you could swap out the pics in). A trio of places you've lived/fallen in love/spent time together/visited, etc. makes a nice memory wall!
