The Garvin Family Christmas Tree

Over the weekend we hit up the Christmas Tree Farm, also known as one of my favorite places on earth. We look forward to picking out our tree every year... if you haven't gone the "real tree route" before... you absolutely have to. It will probably make you do back flips across your tree-lit living room.

Of course I dressed the munchkin up as festive as can be & then she barfed all over her clothes.

So, after a quick wardrobe change, we were off! She was MESMERIZED by all of the tall trees, lights & live music. Seriously, we would have stayed here all night if it were possible. (Did I just invent camping at Christmas tree farms?)

Bonus, Harper got to pet a pony. Which I totally thought was a reindeer at first.

This little kiddo was having a blast trying to touch everything in sight. I think she could sense the excitement & festiveness in the air because she was putting on quite the show squealing & chatting away while we picked out garlands & wreaths. We finally filled our cart, tied our tree on top of the car & headed home smelling like pine.

Every year, the decision to decorate in color or white lights consumes me. Now that we have a house big enough, we are rocking two trees so I can do both. We got a monster, tall Christmas tree from our friends as a housewarming gift (I know, they are the shit!) so that tree is in the family room & the messy, real tree is in the entryway. As soon as the rest of my decorations arrive in the mail (yes, I greet the postman everyday outside) - there will be a full holiday house tour! But for now...

I give you... the Griswold Garvin Family Christmas Tree!

Uncle Lewis! Look what you've done to my tree! :)

  3. Love the tree, it's a real 'beaut. And I totally feel ya on the kiddo barfing all over the totally cute festive outfit. It's happened to us more than once. Good thing I have backups! Ohhhhh, and even though I don't know you, I totally thought of you the other day (sorry if that's creepy) when I ordered one of my munchkin pop's Christmas presents! Have you ever heard of Blabla dolls? If not, you totally need to check them out. They are hand-knit and made of all natural fibers and oh, did I mention, freaking adorable?! Long story short, I ordered Suzette the Fox for my little lady and thought about you and your affinity for foxes! Seriously though, you will love them. Get your google on if you haven't seen them before!

    2. We have one of the dolls. They are too cute. What's good about them is you can use your new born clothes on the dolls to play dress up.

  7. This is the first time my family and I are going to be doing a real tree since I was a kid! I'm super psyched to be getting one. Now the dilemma is what color scheme to do. Ha! Last year we had light blue and silver so this time will have to be different. I look forward to decorating the tree each year so I can't wait for us to go get one from a tree farm. Yaayy! Your family's tree looks beautiful! I've never thought of doing a gradient type color theme. Creative! Thank you for sharing. :]

  14. I loved Harper's room decorations! Cant wait to see what you've done with the house. Quick question, I remember you posting about baby nail polish you ordered Harper a while back..I'm on the hunt for some and tried to find the old post but no luck. What was it called and where did you get it?? I'd really appreciate the help, thanks!

    1. Thank you!! It is called Piggy Polish. Good luck with it! I've tried SO many times to paint her nails... turned into a hot mess. I may have to sneak attack her with it when she is asleep! :)

    2. The Piggy Polish takes FOREVER to dry, and it's extremely sticky!! It makes a huge mess! Using regular nail polish works so much better- I just do one thin coat and let it dry.

  15. Super fab as always! We also do two trees....the fun family one and our "Army Tree", as my husband is Active Duty Army. It's chocked full of patriotic & military ornaments and mementos & ornaments from each of our duty stations we've been to the last 13 years. I crack up at all of your Griswold jokes!!! Wonder if you'll be getting a Jelly of the Month membership this year!! LOL! :)

  20. Hahahah "...a pony which I thought was a reindeer at first". Awesome. And totally legit. Who knows with those guys? One day they're flying the next day they're not. The only ones we saw were heavily sedated. To which the worker (guard) relplied in offended tone that they do NOT drug their animals. Ok bro, we're just saying we've seen those glazed eyes before.

And I agree blabla will rock your world
