Thank you all for the overwhelming amount of kind words & well wishes on Harper's birth! It has been amazing reading all of your comments.. especially in the wee hours of the night during feedings. The last few days have been so much more amazing than I ever could have imagined. I did end up having a c-section, which ended up being an incredible experience & was nothing like what I had built up in my mind. I can't wait to share the details.
Here are just a few pictures to share. I loved the countless hours of laying in bed with Harper on my chest like this in the hospital.
She is such a sweet, happy baby who loves to sleep.
One of our first pictures as a family of three.
I am excited to continue blogging, to share pictures of Harper's nursery, her birth story & all of the things I have learned along the way. My blog definitely seems now like the perfect place to share my thoughts... especially since my hormones are out of control these days!
Harper started fussing the other night while we were eating dinner. We put her in her swing for the first time, and her little eyes just lit up looking at the bird mobile hanging from it & hearing the music. My eyes filled with tears and all I could say was "she's so cute....she's soo cute..." over and over again as I started to sob. Then she got the hiccups. Which totally put me over the edge. I thought I was going to rip a stitch, I was crying so hard, just overwhelmed with how adorable she is and how I miss feeling her hiccups in my belly and how much I just love her to death. My husband sent me to time out on the couch so I could calm down :)
We are so blessed & thank God so much for this sweet little girl.

Hope you enjoy these first days as a Mummy, they go too fast.
She is so adorable and you are too cute and funny! You had me laughing that you got sent to a hysterical emotional time out by your husband. My husband is always amazed at how emotional I get, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to terrify him when I'm pregnant or have a baby!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm so happy your c-section went well and I look so forward to seeing the nursery and hearing the birth story! Congrats again!

ReplyDeleteMy lil guy was born one month ago today. I started crying too in the hospital when he got the hiccups. I missed it happening in my tummy and it was just crazy to think that's what my lil guy was doing in there! I cried a lot just because I was so happy :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, she is absolutely beautiful! I found your blog on Pinterest and once I saw how close our due dates are (I'm due the 25th...still no baby yet though) I've been following along. My husband jokingly calls you my "pregnant twin" because our due dates, cravings, weight gain etc. have been so similar month by month. Also, we don't know if we are having a boy or a girl so we are excited to see if us having the same signs means that we are having a girl too...so we will just have to wait and see when baby comes if "similar signs" actually means anything. Congrats again, enjoy your sweet baby!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet and yes its def all about the small moments. I am glad your recovery is going well.

ReplyDeleteI just happened upon your blog (due to a pin of your uh-mazing chalkboard on pinterest) and I just have to say you were the most adorable pregnant woman I have ever seen! Seriously. I hope to look half as good as you did whenever I make a baby. Your partying vs. pregnancy chart made me laugh out loud.. I can totally relate (to the partying half that is). And btw your baby girl is gorgeous.. congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading your blog throughout your pregnancy. Motherhood is such a life-changing and fulfilling blessing. I am a new mother myself, and my baby boy brings such sheer joy to my every day.
I can very much relate to the spontaneous postpartum crying and sobbing spells. They will go away, though. It took about 2 1/2 weeks for me, and then the tears disappeared like magic :)
Take care and best wishes!
She is a doll!!! I absolutely love your blog & I love your chalkboard idea. I just found out I am about 4 weeks pregnant, so I am very excited. & love reading your blog about all the things I have to look forward to!
