Today is Little Baby Garvin's due date. And now we have a little one week old baby girl.
People aren't kidding when they say that time flies. I woke up today and said that I wish I could do it all over again! Harper's birth day was the best day of my life.. and while it gets better every day.. it's sad to think that the day we anticipated for so long is gone. Man, I am SUCH A SAP!
We have spent the last few days just staring at our little girl. All of her funny facial expressions & noises make us laugh. Since she was breech, she always has her legs in funny positions, hubby calls it the "strong leg" when we are trying to dress her and she puts her leg straight in the air and locks her knee. Exactly what would make me flinch when I was pregnant.
She loves to be swaddled up tight, likes a pacifier for just a few minutes to get her to sleep, loves to hold our fingers when she isn't wearing baby mittens & gives us a wicked mean mug when she wakes up from naps or gets her clothes changed.
It has been so much fun having my husband home from work for an entire week, I am so sad he has to go back tomorrow. When you have a baby, not only do you feel this overwhelming love for this new human being, but love for your husband like no other.
We have spent lots of time snuggling our little family of three & soaking up this amazing time together.
Thank you again for all of your great advice & sweet comments. I feel truly blessed to have so many followers & readers ready to offer so many kind words. And Harper's grey flower hat is from etsy, of course. It is the softest hat ever, I love it so much & have them in a few colors :) Here is the link to Zuzii.
One last thing, while I know that most of you have found my blog via PINTEREST, I am asking that everyone please refrain from posting any pictures of Harper to your pinboards. I know it is mostly for inspiration for picture ideas or things of that nature which is completely harmless, I'd like to do what I can to keep her pictures from randomly floating around the internet. I'd love to continue to post her pictures on my blog. Thank you all for your understanding! :)

She's so cute :) Congratulations, Jessica.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good mom already looking out for the welfare of your daughter by asking not to put pictures up of Harper. I hope people respect your wishes. I have enjoyed following your blogs. Thank you for sharing your pregnancy with us all.
ReplyDeleteJust look at that head of hair! :) Perfect for little bows. I bet you can't believe how fast time is flying. Just following your pregnancy progress and seeing you reach Harper's little birthday is making my own pregnancy just seem more "real".
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, thank you for sharing. I'm so looking forward to my due date which is coming up so quickly!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet family!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on having your precious baby! I can't wait to see her nursery and your future posts. CONGRATULATIONS!!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing!! I am a silent little follower! And love to red your posts! She is just darling hold onto these little baby moments forever! Keep blogging!
ReplyDeleteTrue true love, hailey<3
she is such a little beauty! So happy for you both and can't wait for more of your post pregnancy updates! xo
ReplyDeleteShe's so sweet!! I also found you via Pinterest, and I had an idea for you :) For the hat you found, and other things that are cute that's she wearing, you should post the link- that way if someone wants to "pin" it, they can go to the source instead if making cute Harper an internet sensation :)
ReplyDeleteBabies are so precious, and get big so fast! Keep soaking it all up!
Love that you can see her beautiful dark hair in these pictures! So precious your family of 3!
ReplyDeleteHappy 1st week Harper!
ReplyDeleteI was the same way and to celebrate the date of when Elle was born on the 15th of each month we read to her On the Night you Were Born and 14 months later i still cry every time I read it. If Miss Harper did not receive this book as a gift it's a must buy.
So precious :) enjoy the moments! And she is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 1 week Harper!! I absolutely love your name baby girl!! It's so great to see how happy you are with your beautiful daughter... It brings a tear to my eye because I remember when my baby girl was born last January! So happy for you all and I look forward to reading more posts about your adventure in motherhood! Congrats again!!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog...makes me so excited to experience mommy hood someday, hopefully sooner than later haha. You look fantastic! So happy baby Harper is here for you and your hubs to love on :-) And I love that she has her own chalkboard! Enjoy every second!
ReplyDeleteShe is so precious! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteshe is so precious. congratulations again! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that she has her own little chalk board :)
ReplyDeleteShe is such a cutie! Enjoy every minutes as it goes WAY too fast!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again! You have a beautiful family. Posting about the pinterest. If you have a friend who is really computer savvy there is a way to have the photos on the page but when someone tries to "pin it" It will only allow them to pin the link to the blog. I've seen it on a few pages for the exact reason you are asking your followers not to float pics of Ms Harper. I do think most of your followers will respect your wishes but for those that don't there is a way to prevent it. (I have no clue how to do it otherwise I'd let ya in on the secret!)
ReplyDeleteCongrats again! She is beautiful!! Was your C-section schedule or did you go into labor?
ReplyDeleteHarper is so beautiful! Congratulations again and enjoy all the time with your precious little girl!!
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful!! Congrats to you! I love that you wanted a Valentine's Day eve baby and she arrived the day after! :)
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely adorable. I am so jealous & still kicking myself everytime I read your blog that I did not think to take such amazing weekly maternity photos or weekly baby photos when I had my son! I look forward to continuing to follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteBeing a mommy is the greatest job God could have ever given us! It's also the toughest, don't be afraid to ask questions or get advice!
Wow a week old already. It does go by fast. She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love how she has a baby chalkboard for her photos like you had your chalkboard for her!
ReplyDeleteThat is so special :)
Harper is beautiful!
so happy you're doing well, she's just so sweet! <3
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's already one week old and that you're at your official due date! Time really does fly! She is so sweet and you look great mama!
ReplyDeleteShe is so sweet! Congrats Momma! I love how you started a mini chalk board for her :)
ReplyDeletePinterest is a fun creative site for ideas but I take your request very seriously about not pinning little Harpers pic. It's so fun to follow this blog and I think it will spoil it if mamas wishes aren't valued by her followers. Thanks for sharing and letting us follow your sweet story! Glad to see you thriving in this new life of yours! Here's to many happy and healthy days ahead and keeping these precious family pics on the Garvin blog!! God bless!
ReplyDeleteJust a beautiful little girl and a lovely little family of three! You look gorgeous and radiant for just having a baby and a c-section at that. Congrats again and Happy One week to little Harper!

She's beautiful! Congratulations! Our little one (now 9 months) would do the exact same thing with her legs as she was breech also... every time we were changing her diaper, she'd fling her legs up in the air all stiff and straight :) Enjoy these first few weeks cos time definitely flies by.
ReplyDeleteyou made her a mini chalkboard! congratulations again to you and your husband! harper is beautiful :) ive seen some bloggers put their blog titles on their pictures so others don't use them, maybe that would deter people from repinning harpers pics?
ReplyDeleteOh she is so precious! I love the family picture. Too sweet. Enjoy her, momma!
ReplyDeleteYou should consider watermarking your photos of Harper with your blog address ... that way even if they get out onto the internet somehow, it will be linked back to your site which will prevent creepies from trying to pass your sweet baby girl off as their own.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable! Love the baby-sized chalkboard :)
You all look so content! This makes me so excited for my little one due April 3! I cant wait to experience it all. I am glad you are all doing well.
ReplyDeleteAwww I love that you gave Harper her own little chalk board! Like mother, like daughter :) You're looking great and she is so stinkin' cute!
ReplyDeleteHarper is so beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI would assume that a lot of people will understand that you don't want pictures of Harper's pictures on public sits...I wouldn't want my kid's picture out there too. I'd suggest you to add like watermark at bottom of your pictures too. That way, people can't steal it and claim it as theirs. Just an idea.
You are a beautiful mom...and your husband is adorable. So, it's not surprising that you have a beautiful baby!
Congrats again. :)
I love that she has her own little chalkboard for pictures! She is so beautiful! And congratulations again to both of you!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are all doing well! I love your blog! When it comes to the pictures, http://thegreatumbrellaheist.blogspot.com/ puts her URL over the photos. I think that's a great idea especially with the kids! Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteglad to see baby, you, and daddy are doing well!! she is precious! but you already know this! :)
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ever told you that you and your husband look like a domesticated Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green?? I LOVE IT! So adorable.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering what you were going to do with your chalkboard theme once you had your little girl! I like this idea, I want to do something like it (one day). And I absolutely LOVE the name you picked for your little girl, I think it's so romantic ❤

ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely precious. Congrats!! :)
ReplyDeleteI almost cried reading about your love for your baby and husband. We are expecting our first in July, and I can hardly wait! Thanks for sharing! She is simply adorable and congrats!
ReplyDeletep.s.-I know how you feel about random pictures of your baby floating around the internet, I am torn as to how many personal pictures I actually want to post on my blog as well.
I love Harper's mini chalkboard!! She is such a pretty baby!!
ReplyDeleteHappy one week baby doll. and mommy congrats once again shes gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteand about the whole keeping her out of the internet as much as u can i totally agree!!!! their is something that you can put on your blog so ppl cant copy any of your pics. i just dont know the name of it.
cant wait to see Harpers nursery and more pics of this cutie pie. god bless.

There is a pinterest blocking code you can put on your pics. :) CONGRATS!!

She is adorable and I totally understand not wanting her pictures all over Pinterest. But I do love the idea that you kept the chalk board theme even with her!!! She is adorable and congrats again!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the Garvin family! Harper is adorable. I hope people respect your wishes--I wonder if you can protect the pictures from being copied? Your blog is so interesting, and hopefully people will respect your privacy. Best wishes and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on her first week! Love the baby chalkboard ;-)
ReplyDeleteI agree about watermarking. I have all my pictures watermarked from our blog, with my blog address (low opacity across the middle so it's not overly obvious but you can see it and it would be very hard to crop out). I edit mostly on my computer and use lightroom that has a built in watermarking feature but for the iPhone there are some great apps out there you can use to add text to your pics as well.
Congrats on her first week! Love the baby chalkboard ;-)

These pictures are so sweet!! Congratulations again, you are going to be such a fantastic mother! Can't wait to see nursery pictures :) happy one week Harper!
ReplyDeleteIf you have Photoshop or Illustrator, you could slice your photos up into little bits, and then post them as a whole. That way, if someone attempts to pin, they can only pin a portion of the photo because it reads as several images just butted up against one another. A lot of designers do this to their work to keep someone from stealing something.
ReplyDeleteJust slicing an image in half or in fourths would probably be enough to discourage anyone.
I read that you use Paint to format your images, but you may be able to do something similar in that program. I've never tried it.
Hey I just wanted you to know I just saw 2 different pictures of baby Harper on pinterest and then 1 pic of the 3 of you guys on pinterest. :( Hope you find that picture blocking tool so no more baby Harper pics get posted. :(
ReplyDeleteSo stinkin' cute! She has so much hair! She looks so much like you :)

ReplyDeleteso cute! It would be fun to put all of your chalkboard preggie photos in like a flip book to see the belly grow and same with your little one for the first year. She's precious
ReplyDeleteYay... she's beautiful! Congrats! I can't wait to continue reading and watching you guys grow as a family of 3!
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy family. You should download Total Baby for your iPhone. That thing did WONDERS for me the first few months . It helped me keep track of feedings, diaper changes, etc. it's especially helpful if you're breastfeeding and pumping. I believe it's free.
ReplyDeleteI already commented, but i am again! I can't stop going to your blog and staring at her beautiful, adorable, cute, perfect face! She is to cute!!
ReplyDeleteI just found out a way to block others from pinning photos on your website/blog. I did it on mine and it worked. Thought I'd share it with you. Go to the following website and there is easy step by step directions. Also, you might want to search for a disable right click html code. That way others cannot right click on your photos and save them into their personal files or what not. Hope this helps!

Harper is so very adorable! I have so enjoyed following your weekly pictures and posts- congratulations on such a beautiful blessing.
ReplyDeleteI read where you cried when she got the hiccups - and missed feeling it when she was in your belly - that brought up such sweet memories for me...My little girl did the same and as much in love with her as I was I missed feeling her kick me from inside.
Enjoy her every single moment. It is amazing how quickly it flies by.
You have such a beautiful family. God Bless you all!

She's so precious!! I was just saying to my husband today that when we have babies,I'm probably going to try all the time about how fast they grow. "She can't be two months old ALREADY!!!" sob sob sob. I don't think he quite understood because he looked at me and said, "They're supposed to grow. That's only natural."
ReplyDeleteYou just watch. He'll be worse than me when the time comes! ;)
She is so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to keep her pictures safe,
ReplyDeleteI would recommend watermarking them!!! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat if I don't want images from my site to be pinned?
Solves all your worries!
